May I give you an early holiday present?
.
.
This morning I came across a small worn red bound book by Mary Oliver given to me several months ago by a very wise friend. In it she directed me to page 37 no. 4:
.
.
Instructions for living a life:
Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.
.
I'm thinking this advice might take you and me far this holiday weekend and well beyond. We are blessed that most often we do SEE, and then we get to share all that here. TSUP!

Isn't this what we all do everyday in our lives and blogs?
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful, wonderful.xoxo
ReplyDeleteYES!!!
ReplyDeleteah kj, thats a beautiful reminder and can never be repeated too many times. today i saw a gorgeous leaf on the ground and felt all these things. it stopped my sister and i in our tracks. and aren't we so lucky we all have blogs where we can share the things that astonish us in this world?
ReplyDeletei love M.O. and seeing my name next to hers in a sentence gave me a certain thrill. thank you for the kind words.

When we pay attention, we certainly astonish to see the power of mind and then only we can express through words. it has tremendous power. I completely agree with the first comment posted by Lynn.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great holiday advise. I will try to improve on it.
O, I do love these words. Great! Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose breathing fits into that little red instruction manual for living anywhere does it?
ReplyDeleteI love both statements. I think we (those of us who are present of mind) try to do this on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteWhen we drift away from it, all it takes is a beautiful leaf like the one that stopped Lori in her tracks, or a sunrise, reminding us how lucky we are to have another day and another chance to get it right.
Nice reminders Kj. And I love both women this post was attributed to.
And you ;)
