  5. Oh my! Can you imagine how those photos look to a woman who has been driving around in 110 degree heat all week!!!

Lots of folks are away for August, but Neighbors Who Care still has to get folks who don't drive to appointments and the market, etc.

Yesterday, a little old lady with a gleam in her eye reached inside her shopping bag and pulled out two chocolate, caramel and nut covered ice cream drumsticks! She handed me one and asked if we had time to stop beside the water and watch the ducks. You bet I did.

She told me about her mother marching against Wooodrow Wilson and for Women's Right to Vote. How her mother was reviled and shunned. And all the while absorbing the day and the ducks and the waterside with a friend eating a treat in an air conditioned car. I told her about my blog and that I would dedicate a post to her mother.

And here you are by the waterside, enjoying your connections and remembering those you left behind with posdcards. So like you. You know I've read every single word and love Stella's paws, Emily's excuses and LOVE her poems. I can sense her destiny. ;>)

What do you think the lady's name was? The one lying outside the bar? Abigail? Chastity?

Time goes on. Life is good.

    xoxo

  6. Here's the thing-I saw that and was ready to jump on a plane till I saw the dunes. For some reason, I am convinced I need to get Moondog to those dunes.

I have half a plan in place-the vehicle that will safely transport us all, crated out and ready. Just got to figure out time and place.

It's more complicated than it needs to be-because I don't want to just rush willy nilly across the land between here and there. I am now thinking spring-when all snow has gone *sigh* which is later the further east you go. I really am going to have learn this geography stuff aren't I?
