ReplyDeleteWe had the Granddaddy of all bees in the house the other day. Brian was looking for something to kill it with! I ran in and captured him gently in a cup and released him. After singing "Born Free" as he flew off, I resumed scolding Brian.
Never a dull moment.
It was a big ass bee though!

anne, i must have taken 25 shots of that bee and other bees and manoman was it tough. your comment made me feel alot better! but that cardinal was in no rush. i took that shot from my living room window for fear of chasing it away. okay, it's near time to head over to your studio to see what you've been up to. :)
clap! clap! clap! for ms. lolo who honored and preserved the life of a bee. i am very impressed. i wouldn't have WANTED to kill it, and i hope i would have tried alternatives, but i would have been alittle jumpy scared too. i've been stung and it's no fun (almost a rhyme, is that a sign?)

suki, i can't bloom with the technical either but i do want to learn how to use the camera to at least capture what i see. why i haven't yet enrolled in a quickie workshop is another of my mysteries for the ages. :)

lori, no cupboard, but everything is together at/on/near the bottom shelf of the bookcase. yes, it's so fun to add new surprises.
lori, now, about my camera. i can't improve if i just point and shoot, because there are shots i cannot make no matter what i do. i think i have a pretty good eye: i notice and i aim the camera pretty well. but beyond that, i don't know how to crop, i can't take night pictures, i don't know when and when not to use the flash. sigh....then i see the beauty and skill of your photos, which i can only aspire to and never come close to reaching, and they motivate me. the truth is i don't like when i post pictures like these because i know and you know they are not good enough. ♥

ReplyDeleteI guess you do know that lilies of the valley and violets are my favorite flowers. They grow now all over the place here and people wonders how do I "control them". Say what? It has taken ten years for them to bloom in abundance and they are exquisite, I could not care less if they took over the house. Just imagine...yes! Yours will bloom just as well if you leave them alone and don't try to divide the pips for several years.

PS: Kelly was one of the things Renee and I had in common. I miss her so much I nearly dissolved into tears the other night at dinner when two blog peeps were here and we talked about her. But I do feel her around the garden, where she belongs.
