Little Gifts # 8: More Signs

Two days to Christmas Eve. I hope you are at least hanging in. I have good things ahead of me and I hope that is how things turn out. This is not a trouble free Christmas or holiday or New Year. There are troubles in the world, for starts. For me and I think for many there is that, and there too is the tradition, even joy, of the season; gift giving and baking and balsam scents and friends and family seeing. I think even if I were alone, I could  be restful if I had one pine candle, one poinsettia, and two sugar cookies.

For the next three days I want to give myself the luxury, and I mean luxury, of enjoying and appreciating little things. Where ever I can find them.

Blessed and Peaceful Holidays,

p.s. There is one sign here I don't completely agree with. Can you guess?

  1. Hmm is it "Don't Believe Everything You Think?"

    Loved the pictures.

  2. Not sure
    first or last :-)

    Mary Christmas Kj:-)

  3. Have a great Christmas KJ. (I wonder about the notice re the past - it often has a lot to say to me and I am usually found to be willing to listen).

  4. The first one - no mention of mental emergencies. Have a wonderful Christmas! Sharon

  5. 1 & 3. I slept 21 hours yesterday so I won't need more sleep until late on the 24th, which I will then sleep another 20 some hours. It is good to not be a holiday person. (for me I thought #1 was a sign of the pandemic that runs throughout the world.)

  6. Don't believe everything you think. I saw this as a bumper sticker when I was deeply depressed and had contemplated suicide quite seriously. Those thoughts pushed me to try cognitive behavior therapy, changing how I think. It has done me the most good in dealing with my depression but even today my thoughts can mess me up.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas. Mine will be quiet, only the big guy and my mum. There will be naps I'm thinking, and snoring. Take care.

  7. I think you can, in fact, forgive some unkind words.

But letting the past go to voicemail? That's a skill I have yet to learn!

  8. The day you really let the past go to voicemail will be a banner day my love!

    Merry merry merry. xoxoxo

  9. Is it the one about the past not having anything new to say? Love the one about the poor people who only have true. Now darling I do hope you get to focus on the little things and that all the other stuff just flows nicely and just the way it's meant to. You are precious to us....

  10. Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?

Loved those signs, especially about not believing everything you think. So glad to hear your dear deer is doing much better!

    Merry Christmas, kj!

  11. When the past my guess. I believe my past has an awful lot to say- sometimes too much. LOL.
Wishing you and JB and Chase and the grands and family lotsa love and good new memoriess. xxxxx

  12. We never really grow up????

Oh - maybe I was thinking of myself, hehe!!

Wishing you, jb, chase and all your family the most blessed of holidays and a peaceful and joy-filled New Year.

    With love,

  13. Hi, ther, kj,
    Merry Christmas!
I think that the first sign is one you don't necessarily believe.
    Have a wonderful holiday!
