7. And finally, this is old but too clever to pass up. Be aware of the next expected mergers so that you can get in on the ground floor. Watch for these consolidations:
1.) Hale Business Systems, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Fuller Brush, and W. R.Grace Co. will merge and become: Hale, Mary, Fuller, Grace.
2) Polygram Records, Warner Bros., and Zesta Crackers join forces and become: Poly, Warner Cracker.
3.) 3M will merge with Goodyear and become: MMMGood.
4.) Zippo Manufacturing, Audi Motors, Dofasco, and Dakota Mining will merge and become: Zip Audi DoDa.
5.) FedEx is expected to join its major competitor, UPS, and become: FedUP.
6.) Fairchild Electronics and Honeywell Computers will
become: Fairwell Honeychild.
7.) Knotts Berry Farm and the National Organization of Women will become: Knott NOW!

Sounds like you had a grand time in New York. Great!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you mom is ill. I hope she is soon over that bit of nonsense and is as feisty as every. Hey, have you tried getting her to look after Emily Rabbit? I'll bet she could do a darned good job at that. And Emily wouldn't be able to get around her!
And if you get the Poly Warner Cracker deal you can say, "Knot NOW." Of course, the appropriate response to that would be, "Why Knot NOW?"
That's enough from me. Farewell, honeychild.
Thank you rob bear, for your well wishes and for the smile

Thank you for the smile this morning:)
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome!!
DeleteOh dear, now every time I hear someone say "Not now", it will make me want some strawberry preserves, and I will wonder why!
ReplyDeleteI had heard of some of those before, but not all of them.
Your photos are good of NYC and the nice back garden. And your mother sounds wonderful and witty.
Hello Kay, haha.
Deletesending prayers for your mom. hope she gets well soon.
ReplyDeleteall that thread!
26 years. wow.
And an equal amount of ribbons and trim, suki!
DeleteHoly cow.....you ought to be glad E.R. was not in that trim store~~can you just SEE the ribbons flying left and right??? Love all the photos, but the fabric store makes me want to dive into the computer. I'm afraid they would have had to kick me out at closing....what a DREAM!!!
ReplyDeleteAn all around lovely trip, and prayers to your mother (with wonderful wit I might add) that she'll shake the bug and be back on her feet soon.
Good talking with you!
XXOO~~

Hello my dear friend, actually, imagine meeting up at mood's?! What a thoroughly fun thought
DeleteEverytime I see a comment from you I do a little jitterbug :-)
Love your photo of JB and the accompanying words.... wonderful photos....it's no surprise JB loves *Mood*. It was good she had the time to luxuriate amid all those fabrics and not have to tear through the aisles like the *PR* contastants do! I was a huge *PR* fan for the first 4 years...not so much anymore...
ReplyDeleteI am, though, still a huge fan of YOUR MUM! She is wonderful! Sending prayers for a speedy recovery....please give her a kiss from me when you visit.
Love to you and JB,
♥ Robin ♥
Robin, jb and I only started watching runway a couple of years ago. I just love the challenges, and I can't wait to see the designers hustling at mood
DeleteWorries about my Mom: she is very weak. Thank you always for your caring thoughts and yes I will kiss her for you xoxo
I loved Project Runway back when I had a TV :) There was that cute dog at Mood. What was his name...Trim, or ZipZag, or Swatch...or something cute like that. Anyway....great photos! So colorful!
ReplyDeleteI saw that dog! On the second floor :-)
DeleteOh your poetry, Annie xoxo
The wall of thread spools would make a great poster.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love #5. ♥
Cs, I went back to see what # 5 was and aww, so sweet . Thanks. How cool that you know three of the four of these new York girls ? I'm glad!!!
Delete♥
Love your mom stories. Love the JB photo (and comments). Love the witty bits. Love the fabric store. Am still feeling sorry for myself that I couldn't make it and did a big BOOHOO (just like you know who) on Mariannes blog.
ReplyDeleteah well....
Don't worry, Mim. There is new York and sunflowers and lobster rolls and Lori in our futures :-)
DeleteKj, Wonderful post. I hope your mom is okay.
