I really enjoyed talking to her on the phone. I'd never know she was lying there with a broken pelvis. I could hear the smile in her voice and the anticipation that I might be coming over to play crazy-8's! What a hoot. You can learn a lot from a lady like her. I can see where you get it ;)
Aww bless her cotton socks. I hope it's nothing too serious. I found out my MIL was in hospital this week. She didn't call, I found out through my nephew . . why does she do that? I hope it's nothing too serious.
thanks everyone. my mother is out of the hospital, back at her cozy rest home, getting physical therapy, and hanging in just fine. she's a remarkable woman, really.

I see that unlike me you have such a deep loving heart and whereas I would think 'kj don't worry about those things anymore it is not important.' I see that you couldn't possibly as you invest your whole heart.
