"You can't go too far on the straight and narrow in life if you have an affinity for Provincetown."
insightful quote by ms. kj
This post is about Provincetown.
But first of all: Lori, have a wonderful time in Africa. I know generosity is going to shower you. It will rain on you. :^) You are however obliged to share the most amazing photos. Can't wait ♥
These first three shots are the yard in Provincetown. JB and I take no credit: we live in a house divided into three condos. We are in the middle and Mark in the unit behind us is a gardener. All season there will be blooms and colors. Some may be overgrown, but that is a small price for all this beauty.
There are more cars and people in town.
The shops are opening.
Houses and windows have activity.
And it is Springtime.
This is the view right in front of me now as I type on the couch.
It looks fancier than it really is.
And this is how things are looking on a short walk in Provincetown.
Next weekend all the shops and restaurants will open.
People will come.
And no matter what else
The sun will rise again and again.
love :^)

It looks like a bit of heaven on earth. I love the fancy spiral staircase. Sleek! the side garden photo reminds me of the side of a B&B we like in Mendocino. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Know you are! Love all the photos...especially the kitty.
ReplyDeleteLynn, it really is a bit of heaven on earth. I am so privileged to spend time in provincetown

Ahhh...May! Yes, and may life and love treat you well...looks like a perfect setting for that!
ReplyDeleteHello Teri, how nice to see you here xo
DeleteMay is such a verdant beautiful month. I hope you are enjoying it too
Love the pictures. Your spiral staircase is so cool.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, at first it took some practice to walk up and down it :-). Sometimes I laugh secretly watching guests navigate it for the first times
DeleteHee hee
It's a regular Garden Of Eden!
ReplyDeleteAnd you don't even have to tend it, how perfect!
Love the doggie in the the window, and the kitty
strutting the bricks.
It all looks so comfy, cozy,,,,and well, just perfectly magical too.
Cross your heart that neither of you wear flip-flops on that beautiful staircase?
I'm often barefoot come summer, babs , but flip flops are better than socks and I've slipped once or twice on that staircase :-)
DeleteI am convinced that ptown is indeed magical. Many say it's because of the way the light bounces off the water. And, it may be a bit dysfunctional but it's a happy place
♥

Sweetest post! All the photos are great but I am particularly fond of the last one, catching the cat in perfect stride...
ReplyDeleteI took five shots Lydia: none good enough and then that cat just stood and turned around and walked away. Turned out to be the best shot among them :-)
DeleteYes indeed these are beautiful photos! You have such an eye! Wonderfulness.
ReplyDeleteHi vanessa! You would have a BLAST sketching in Provincetown. Oh the characters you would illustrate!!!
Deletexoxo
Ah, I'm thinking I could use a big fat dose of P-Town...for a few hours or days.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely pathway to retreat into, for creativity to flow....quiet, at least for the time being.
A haven for the creative spirit to recharge.
XXOO~~
Anne
I wish, anne. I know you would love every part of ptown. Good for the creative juices and good for the soul

How awesome to be able to enjoy the fruits of someone else''s labour. I can't stand gardening, you're lucky to have Mark to get things in order for you
ReplyDeleteHi hells! Very lucky, although I love to garden whenever I have time. But ptown is filled with beautful gardens! Someday you'll see :-)

DeleteIt DOES look fancy. Maybe this year....???
ReplyDeleteOh YES Mim!
DeleteWow - I am a lovely shade of green right now (me and Kermit). I'm so happy you have this retreat.
ReplyDeleteI think living near water sounds perfect. I do live near woods, and that's pretty swell, too.
xox
Pam, you would live ptown. I know you would.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking yesterday that 'swell' is a swell word and not used so much anymore. So here you are using it--yay!
