These pictures speak for themselves. I will just tell you that JB and I arrived back in Provincetown at dusk and my fourteen year old friend Cam and I got up at 5 am to watch the sun rise on the beach at Race Point and proceeded to spend the next two and a half hours in awe of the changing Cape Cod light, colors, patterns, and coastline.
.
This is another part of Provincetown and the Provincelands. I hope you enjoy seeing it as much
as I enjoy sharing it with you.

Oh!
ReplyDeleteSigh.
These are so gorgeous.
So many different emotions these touch.
I especially love the stairway to the sea and that golden sunrise shot. Kind of a longing,,,,,
and yet a feeling of being perfectly at peace, all at the same time.
Beautiful!
Oh kj it's just so lovely. What's the tower? A lighthouse? A shot-tower? It looks very European. I'm sitting here on a grey, drizzly, cold very 'English' day and its not even worth taking the camera out. I have the winter blues I think so thank you for your rays of dawn sunshine!
ReplyDeleteNice story and pictures
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, most of them have a relaxing effect on me.
ReplyDelete'lordy lordy ms claudie' these are superb shots....whew, what a simply lovely place to refuel and recharge and reenergise.
ReplyDeleteYou're building a lovely photo collection.
ReplyDeleteDelicious. All of them!
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me to get in the car at sunrise and shoot around here. I'll bet the marshes would be awesome.
I'm always awake at dawn...damn cat!
(You know I adore her.)
Thanks for sharing. Maybe I'll be sharing the views soon!
xoxo
baino, "that is the Pilgrim Monument, made entirely of granite from Stonington, Maine, and, at 252 feet, the tallest all-granite structure in the United States. It's located at the tip of Cape Cod in Provincetown. It is an often overlooked fact that the Pilgrims actually spent five weeks considering Cape Cod as their home before deciding, instead, to sail across Cape Cod Bay, where they found a more protected area for settlement at Plymouth."
ReplyDeletebtw baino, it would be my pleasure to send you sunshine any damn time.
xoxox
I'm not an envious soul by nature, but as I watch the drizzle, I find myself wishing I were at the beach. Hope you have a lovely day today!

I've actually started a biking program to be able to get up the "moderately difficult" hills in the Provincetown trail system. I'm not overly concerned, I have no issues with walking a hill if I have to, but it would be an accomplishment (to me) to be able to ride a few hills "back East".
ReplyDeleteAlso, I would like to be able to walk afterward.
Oh. Oh. Glorious photos. I think my favourite is the waving sea grass silhouetted against the light. But each and every one is a little masterpiece - lovely kj.
ReplyDeleteribbon, thanks!
ReplyDeletedebra kay, you will LOVE the bike trails. go for it.
tessa, thank you. that means alot after seeing your photos. btw, i kinda love you. :)
very beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteHi, KJ. I saw your comment on Suki's blog and wanted to say that if you can do the "my life in 6 words," you can write a Haiku. It's just a poem with five syllables in line one, seven in line two and five again in line three. Traditionally, you allude to one of the four seasons without coming out and naming it. Cheers! K
ReplyDeleteWow! These photos are amazingly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBut I especially heart the last one, you know why? The green calm surrounding! I feel so uplifted dropping by to your blog KJ!
