Plan for the Day

Today is Sunday. I slept until 9:30 because I did not go to bed until 3 am, which I loved.
.
My plan for the day is:
.
Breakfast: just finished--one blueberry scone, one apple, and one cup of coffee made and readied for me by jb. I read the Sunday Boston Globe quickly, because it was boring.
.
Now, another hour at least into jb's tax preparation, currently entering her bank statements into Quicken and organizing all our expenses and deductions (I hate this but I am driven to get it done)
.
Noon: Open House at the the local Food Co-op, which will be completed mid spring. We've paid
$ 150 to be members and I hope it's the kind of place I will love to go.
.
Shortly thereafter: Real Estate Open House by our friend who is a realtor. We'll stop in because I love real estate and this house is apparently very cool. It is selling for around $ 525,000 in a declining market. This is far more than jb and I paid for our house and above average for where we live.
.
1:30 (or so): Visit with my Mom at the Rest Home. We've established Sunday afternoon visits and we'll stay until her bingo games start at 3:30. My Mother loves to play Crazy Eights so that is probably what we will do, until the weather is nicer and then we will coax her into Sunday drives, dinner at our house, etc. I do not enjoy cards or games much at all, so Crazy Eights is an act of love from me to my her. jb is a total good sport about it all.
.
Late Afternoon: unknown at this time. I will probably continue jb' s taxes, chat by phone with my best friend (which I could do for hours), and I may work on the story of Alex and Lily.
.
Dinner: Shrimp Jambalaya with tossed salad, my own salad dressing, and french bread.
.
After dinner: More tax %%$#@, perhaps 15 minutes in the hot tub under the stars, another invigorating chat with # 1 best friend, perhaps a few catch-up calls, study my tarot cards, possibly watch CNN for election outlook and updates--actually--I'm not sure....I could fall asleep on the couch somewhere along the line.
.
Tonight: I usually write, blog, putter, and then write, blog, and putter.
.
This is a day in the life of kj. It is as calm a day as I've had in months and months, and I am quite grateful for it. It does not include physical exercise or home repairs, both of which await my committed effort.
.
I am always interested in how people spend their time. (Wouldn't I love to follow Anon for a day!). So if anyone has an interest in sharing your own day, I for one would love to hear about it.

  1. This is what is interesting about the blogs. If one lived next door, we won't bother but this is blogworld so we write about ordinary things that look so special in words. Then we all share. My day: started at midnight. I was on the phone, I think, while drinking coffee and having a slice of chocolate cake. I was drawing and shading my second Spring/Leap drawing and conjuring up images with shades, images that are so phallic and erotic that no one would know because I may them insconspicuous. 1:00AM I was still up, drawing. I went to bed and turned on the light and my husband immediately protested so I went to the living room and reclined in the sofa -drawing. I fell asleep and woke up at 8:00AM, made coffee, glanced at the Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan's article on William F. Buckley. He is one of the reasons why I am a conservative. Draw. Talk to best friend. Everyone is asleep. My husband wakes up - good morning - back to bed. My daughter wakes up - good morning, sits next to me, I play with her hair. Talk, laugh. She gets her laptop and listens to The Beatles. She wishes she was born in the 60's - then she would be my sister - haha! Now get readu for a karate tournament. Talk to best friend. Maybe laundry later, drawing, cook dinner. I hope my daughter enjoys her tournament. This is her last tournament before her red belt test. Maybe something exciting but most of all I pray for love, happiness and safety and thank my Maker for this peaceful and prosperous life.

  2. hmmmm, Listened to A New Earth for awhile and fell asleep around Midnight. Up at 8 to take dogs out, feed puppies, clean out kennels. Coffee with my folks around 10 at their house-going back for lunch. Working on blog, cooked some pig ears for the dogs. This afternoon I will garden a bit and attempt to leash train Oliver. Right now I've got Calypso chewing on my watch while I type. At some point this morning I released my remaining cornsnake under the house where it's warm and she can bruminate-her partner, Andy, passed away. Clearly the temps are off and I wanted to give Scarlett the best chance for survival. At some point I will most likely either lift weights or ride my recumbent bike...and I'd like to read the Sunday paper....LOL.

  3. Woke up to Sunday morning and Mother's Day. Cards, flowers and cuddles in bed in youngest daughter [yd]and Sir H.

Bathed yd and tidied yds room. Eldest son [es] arrived home from his Saturday 'night' out. Smiled sweetly.

Youngest son [ys] arrived with card, flowers and beautiful mirrored wooden trinket box.

We all went out and met up with eldest daughter [ed] and grandchildren. Also joining us was my sister and her children.

Spent the rest of the day sipping blackcurrant and soda, eating, laughing and singing.

Arrived home, listened to yd read, checked blogs and wrote this.

Quick brew of tea and bed.

    Wonderful day!

  4. My wife was away all weekend, so I was houseperson. Both sons home.
Shopping, cooking, my morning was pretty taken by that. My breakfast: 2 rolls with peach jam. Lunch: thin slices of baked veal with boiled patatoes, freshly steamed carrots seasoned with young, small onions, chopped very fine, and small peas. A light brown meaty gravy. I went to the carnival parade this afternoon, my blog will be all carnival photos as of tomorrow morning 8 am local time. Tonight I drove Tom to his studio apartment in Gent. Smooth traffic: 1.5 hours there and back.
    I like your photos.
I'm reading Ces' post while I'm typing this.
Phallic and erotic..., wow, this is a Ces I don't know.
Her daughter listens to the Beatles, great!
    Hey, great, a karate tournament.
What school? I used to do a bit of Shotokan when I was in my early twenties.

  9. I am going to disappoint you about my day so far KJ but it IS Tuesday here! Bed midnight after watching video of earlier missed programs because worked until nine. Woke 6am to transfer Jack to outside Castle and send Bearman on his way to work. Checked bus timetable for Son One who's first class began at eight. Woke Son Two and shoved into a shower. Posted blog posts for the day and began catching up on viewing other blogs, ignoring about thirty work emails. First load of clothes washing on. Son One MISSED bus! Family arguement about not getting $20 for taxi. Wrote late note for school. Checked Son Two's bag has all assignments within it that took most of our weekend completeing. Phoned Bearman because Son One outraged at missing first class and demanding taxi money in two year old tantrum. Bearman yells at Son One on phone that it's his own fault. The bus was actually eight minutes early - apparentley. Both sons then miss NEXT bus!!! Coffee. Dirty dishes into hot suds. Answer blog comments and tell sons to walk (HAHA not really). Haven't had breakfast yet.... sigh.

    Tuesdays are better than Mondays!

  16. My 'day' KJ was the first three hours only and it's NOT FUNNY!!!! I forgot to mention cleaning two bird cages aswell. We're also self employed but I'm up to February tax and it's only one business. Back to crunching numbers ... it would take an hour to write about how the next three hours were, so triple the chaos for those ;) KEEP GOING with that tax KJ!!! Hhehheheee

  17. I love Anon Bird. That's a nice name. Anon Bird.

My day today: Woke up. Drew some more. Brush teeth, water pick, floss, water pick again. I love cleaning my teeth, I really do. I like blowing minty air between clenched teeth. Coffee. Wake up first born. Wait for husband to finish his shower. I take shower. Wear new suit. It's hot. I have personal summer event. Draw some more. Wake up daughter. Clean Snowflake's cage. Pet her. Go to work. Meet cute consultant. Work all day. Go home. It's freezing, brrr! 35 degrees, what the heck? Buy lottery ticket. Win 1 million dollars. Take everyone to dinner. Gave winnings to charity so I don't pay taxes. Poor again.

  20. Today: Another day with cute consultant even though his hair has turned grey. He shared photos of his family, 4 pretty girls and a beautiful wife. I am having so much fun. Worked hard yesterday. Work hard again today. One more bit of information and my brain will explode. Today I wear chartreuse blouse and matching Fiesta coffee mug and purse. Hahaha! Have a great day Ms KJ. Good luck, be safe, LOVE LOVE LOVE!

  21. joy, how nice to see your comment here! i love to stay up late. sometimes i fall asleep and then wake up again, but those late nights, when everything is quiet, are special to me.

designing fairy, the day was actually pretty easy going, except of course the dreaded taxes. thanks for stopping by--always a pleasure!

miladysa, didn't we just love hearing about anon's day?! do you think she knows she revealed wonderful tidbits to us?

cs, i love sundays. sometimes i putter and sometimes i lounge. i don't think i could keep up with you!--but i love following your rehab. efforts!

dear ces, it will be very fun if you choose to report your daily comings and goings on a regular basis. i would caution you, however, not to be fearful of paying taxes. i always think it's so funny when people have financial abundance and focus on the tax instead of the fortune. give me the million and i'll take care of it for you, ok? :)

sidney, my day is nothing compared to all those WIRES on your blog. my god! hope you are well--it's always nice to hear from you.

ces, oooh, a fashion report today. and loving sentiments. are you sure that cute consultant is not tipping you over the edge? :)
