Where (How) I Live: Western Massachusetts

Stella: rescued, loved, missed

when there were just two..
health costs: the most expensive dog we will ever love

Please don't misunderstand. My life is not as lovely as the people and animals and space around me. I complain as much as I appreciate.

But....

Where (how) I live is beautiful and peaceful and full. One day I will not live here anymore. Then I hope I will look back on this farmland and college town with abundance. And if I'm smart enough by then, I will know that my ability to be happy comes not from these gifts that surround me, but from within me.

I am every age I've ever been and every place I've ever been.

  1. What a delightful place kj! And such delightful pictures. Hopefully you can get back to the ocean, soon. In th meantime, keep enjoying where you are.

BTW, Chase is looking pretty good, as an expensive dog should. Glad you love him so much.

    Blessings and Bear hugs!

    1. Rob. Chase now has seizure meds, a special anxiety collar, acupuncture, an animal communicator, and an overnight kennel so he doesn't have to make the trauma riddled trip with us to Provincetown (yet). Jeez Louise. We are in too deep in the caring dept to do otherwise, but our fingers are crossed

I hope you are snapping photos of your own space and place. I think it helps to see...

my blog tends to give a few people that same problem I'm not certain why only with some sorry. Living in Western Massachusetts...those photos looks suspiciously like home. Right on down to the funny signs....thanks for stopping by my blog today. I haven't been rounding quite as much lately so I was actually thinking of you and missed you when you showed up! Hope you're well, chase looks fabulous, and if he were a poodle he would be the second most expensive dog in western Massachusetts!

  7. Zoe! Are you saying what I think you're saying that you live in the region where I live? Nooo way! (Do you?!)

When I click on your blog, I get the google plus page and I have to click from there. Normally on blogger there is no google plus anything. That difference is probably a factor

I read about your book this morning. Have you sent your query letters? I know they are hard to write ! If you do live in New England (do you?) do you know about Write Angles ? That oct conference is fantastic for writers

    1. Zoe, check out write angles. If there is still space you can sit with an agent for 20 minutes. And workshops and speakers are awesome

Your home is so warm and inviting. I know you'll always have that, no matter where you live.

  13. I am so confused. I had thought you already didn't live there anymore because you had bought a new house and your old one was on the market.

    1. Snow. I live in western mass and have had a vacation condo in provincetown on cape cod for many years. We have finally managed to sell it and bought a modest and sweet single family home that in time we will likely retire to.
I hope this explanation is helpful!

    2. I understood that buying the new place left you strapped, and I had taken this to mean--what with being recently retired (or so I thought)--that you were packing up and moving into your new house so you could sell your present house.

    3. No snow: what left us strapped was buying a new house before selling the condo and then the condo not selling. We have finally sold it in the nick of time! No delight in owning two houses though , but it's the way it will stay as long as my Mother lives up the street
