Remind me next year! Hahaha... yes, you are right. Blogging is for me also something I never thought I would have so much pleasure in it, when I started 2 years ago. For the time being we carry on, don't we? :-) @Ces: I don't understand the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Is it possible to make a blog about this issue, as to explain this to me? Of course we see on television Hillary Clinton and Obama and Rudy Giuliani, but they yell in microphones and say (in my opinion) very optimistic things to the public.
Whát? Whát did I wrong???? Is this not a good topic??? Is Ces a Democrat or is she not? Is it wrong to be a Democrat or a Republican? Don't forget we have a lovely elder lady for a Queen, eh? :-)))
Addictive compulsion comes to mind. The people out here are WAY smarter, charming and interesting than the great unwashed shuffling outside my door.
I know, I know, it's due to the fact that I haven't sat down with the great unwashed and listened, yeah, yeah, REALLY listened, to their stories.
This is my 3rd year and I see little hope of voluntarily abandoning the blogosphere.
Ces you can relax, I think that McCain is going to win in November. All of the nasty cat scratching betwixt Hillary and Obama has done them in. When Hillary gets the nod the newly minted young voters and ethnic communities will be discouraged and stay home in droves.
See, this is a perfect example of how much fun it is. A captive audience for some Canadian goofball to wax boldly about US politics. HA!
wieneke, i owe you a present. putting ces and democrat in the same sentence caused me to laugh for hours.
in a nutshell, here is my description: democrats tend to be more liberal and republicans tend to be more conservative in political, social and personal matters. republicans use to be more fiscally conservative too but no longer...
Since you put it that way KJ, as a Republican I am a fiscal conservative. I do not believe in big government. I believe in individual ability and self sufficiency not government to tell me what to do or how to manage my affairs. I believe that hard work and education are paths to success. I believe in fair competition and equal chances, not making the requirements and playing field easier because of race or gender. A don't believe in lowering standards to allow those with less abilities and give them an edge. It is unfair to those with the right skills. I do not need laws to regulate my actions. I believe that the government's responsibility is to protect its people's security through national defense and securing its borders. I believe in a strong military. As an immigrant who came to this country because I believe in its collective values towards freedom and justice, I came thinking that I can contribute through my skills and profession. I owe it my loyalty and I will do what is needed to protect its sovereignty. I detest illegal immigration. I believe in the founding fathers' philosophy of a sovereign nation. Unlike Democrats, I do not believe and will not believe in the liberal dogma of "Blame America First" nor "America Belongs To The World." I believe in the core values of the family. I believe in babies, and I believe that they need a mother and a father, not a village nor government who will give entitlements. I hate demagoguery. Socialism and communism are failures. I do not think illegal immigrants who come to this country ought to fly the flags of their nation nor transalte the Preamble of the Constitution of the US that Jefferson wrote. We make mistakes but I believe in the Americans' ability to learn from their mistakes and make the right decision. People all over the world still look up to America as a great country. Pray tell me how many people from other countries are queueing outside the embassies of Cuba, China and Russia to immigrate, but the line outside US embassies for LEGAL immigration is always busy and long. These and a whole lot of other conservative values are what makes me and my friends members of the Republican party.
As for pork, I encourage people to READ government reports without the talking heads. Murtha is the biggest pig and Democrats have the fattest projects. Even Delay when he had the power did not line his region in Texas with that much pork.
Glad that you are feeling a little brighter - winter is a good time for reflection and quiet restoration; but sometimes we need a blast of spring - yours is on it's way - trust me on that! :)
"Cozy" is a wonderful but surprisingly true description KJ!
