THE BOSTON RED SOX ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 89 YEARS. THEIR LITTLE-KNOWN SECRET: HIT THE BALL, THROW THE BALL, CATCH THE BALL.
Hiya KJ! I was never a baseball fan, BUT.. I can relate to the excitement of barracking for the WINNING TEAM - HOORAY!!!!! (PS: Im still working on my 'homework' assignment from your last Careers post - finding it challenging - will get there!)
Hooray, KJ! When I was little I was really into the Sox -- had a jacket and hat and everything! So, although I pay no attention to baseball these days, this is really exciting. I'm glad I was in New England to experience some of the fever. My right ear is still ringing from N. screaming into it with excitement Sun. morning. I miss you already and the girls were missing you by the end of your driveway. Thank you for everything! What an awesome weekend ... lots of things discovered and learned. Six more months!
:( I knew there wasn't much hope but I was going for the extreme underdog. Besides, the Rockies' starting pitcher, Jeff Francis, is from just down the road. Next year.
hildegarde, yes, this is the prudential center in boston--it used to be the tallest building and now it is 2nd tallest. boston LOVES its baseball team.
I once had a SOX had-I liked it because at first glance it looked like it said SEX. People would ask me if I was a Red Sox fan and I'd say "not really" with no further explanation. If pressed for one, I'd say "I just like the hat".
I just want to drop a little note to say hello and to let you know that I've been thinking about you and that I'm sending my love--lots of it! :)
I don't know much about the Red Sox (nothing, actually), but I do know that it is good to finally be catching up with your blog. Sorry that I've been away for so long. I got a little bit swallowed up by doing things that scare me. Oh, it feels so good to be back for a visit with you! :)
pieterbie, i LOVE baseball. there is something spiritual about it for me.
cream, it took 86 YEARS! to win the world series four years ago, so this is the second time. red sox fans got used to what was called 'the curse of the bambino', which was when the sox traded babe ruth to the hated new york yankees.
debra kay, haha to your hat!
oh jessie, your comment makes me wish we were having a cup of coffee together talking about art and dogs and all things that matter. SO nice to hear from .
KJ, it's Anon's birthday. Check her Photography blog. She has wildflowers which she dedicated to moi! Very lovely and unique wildflowers, check out the spiders.
now anon, if i can fall in love with cookie, you can fall in like with my red sox....
ReplyDelete:)
What is a Red Sox? Is this a person who can't spell "socks"? Do they really have red socks? What world series?
ReplyDeleteP.S. I actually saw the game by default. My husband was watching it so I heard everything.
