Mish Mash in a Nutshell

Blah to my last post. Too serious for the times. I've had a very good summer and I'm ready for a New England fall. I'm writing daily in-between and aside from some consulting work, yard care, laundry, family, the nightly news and trips to Provincetown.

Tonight I'm just thinking out loud:

This drives me crazy. Why is it so hard for so many people to use 'your' and 'you're' correctly. You're means you are. So you don't say 'your so lucky.' Please pass it on. It will make some folks seem instantly smarter.

In an alley way in Provincetown, this woman from 1906 lies unobtrusively lies in front of the Atlantic House, a well known gay men's bar and a great place to dance.  She is not well known or well visited, but once seen, who could resist her?

Ahh the beach at low tide.  I took this shot one block--one block!--from our new house in Ptown. I am still orgasmic that we have this house. I still can't figure how it happened.

Said beach.

Can you pronounce it? I can't. I can and then I forget. If you know a way to remember, please help me.

This was taken last Saturday night: It is the story of friends as far back as junior high school getting back together. Most of these folks I have not been in touch with for forty plus years. But we didn't miss a beat. There is something good to be said for being known.

That's all. I'm good. Because I'm riding the horse in the direction she's going. I hope you are too.

love

  2. I had to text my ex-husband this past weekend. He texted me back to tell me how condescending my text was, I didn't think it was, and then he signed off with a "Your welcome". I was very proud of myself for not correcting him but WTF!

  3. I admit to using poor grammar. It's not that I don't know the difference between they're, there and their. I do. But when I'm typing as fast as I am thinking, it does't always get put on paper as it should. If I went back and edited I would probably catch it. But for informal correspondence I just don't want to spend the time. And honestly, I don't care if people think I'm smart or not. It's just how I roll.

As always, I love your PTown pictures. I couldn't tell - is the woman's arm broken off, or just disappear under a blanket?

I love your last line. My beloved therapist used to tell me to always face in the direction I wanted to go. I hope your horse is going that way too : )

    1. 8, i haven't seen errors in your blog so i have a feeling you roll differently than you think :^) i beg you to write your and you're correctly. and it's and its. i will give you a present if you agree to try.

i wonder about the woman's arm too. i just noticed it this time around.

    2. I agree to try but I will definitely need a lesson in it's and its. I also know nothing about commas and throw them in just because I haven't used one in awhile. And they're cute. (notice the correct use of they're : ) Colons and semi colons are the work of the devil.

  10. Love the photo of your friends. I think people know how to use your and you're they just don't proof read, the one that bugs me is when people write alot, it is not a word, a lot of people do it though. None of us are perfect.
I am glad you are well, xoxo
