Here I Am

This is Ernest Hemingway's studio, where he wrote almost every one of his books over the nine years he lived here on Whitehead Street.

I stood here in Key West today because JB and I are in Florida for a fantastic two weeks.

This is an untouched sunset at Mallory Square in Key West last night--an incredible twenty minutes or so of watching the sun fall and disappear.

I appreciate the inquiries about where I've been. Thank you. I'm still here and I'll be back shortly with my happy version of colors and words.

Tonight I am back in Fort Lauderdale ready to celebrate JB's birthday tomorrow and ready for another day of pool, gym, lunch, beach, beach, pool, and dinner. And maybe hopefully I think some writing and some drawing.

Love

    1. Rubye, I like some places in florida more than I expected, not all. The intercostals, the birds, the ocean, the food--but here in Fort Lauderdale I do not like the glitz

  4. I was just standing in those same places just 5 weeks ago. And now I am looking at 14 inches of snow. The world is a beautiful and amazing place!

Enjoy the rest of your vacation. Safe travels.

    1. Annie, I know. JB and I have been very lucky : neither of us come from
Wealthy families but we have worked in reliable professions and we plan and plot what we can do and when.

  10. Enjoy relaxing in that Florida sun, sea and sky....that will go a long way to thaw out from the NE's refrigerator. Love the shot of Hemingway's retreat - of course he would decorate with animal heads!

    1. Amanda , Hemingway was a macho guy who knew how to write about the vulnerabilities of macho men, all in simple sentences. I loved seeing his house!

We are headed home in a couple of days to an expected whopper of a nor'easter. Oh boy!
