Ode to a Snow Day

Mr Ryan, Drew, and Logan
Three little boys
sliding on a sled
One was glad
He wasn't in bed
Until he fell off
and then he said
Just two little boys
sliding on a sled

Two little boys
sliding on a sled
Slippin and grippin
and shaking their head
Whee they screamed
quite giddily led
Until one little boy
fell over instead

One little boy
sliding on a sled
Looking at his brothers
holding cookies instead
Help! he called
and then he said
Wait! I'm coming!
Cookies in bed!

with proper thanks to Five Little Monkeys, which I have read aloud no less than one zillion times.

love kj

  6. LOVE it! They look like a pea pod in that picture, especially little Logan with his hat. I agree with Mim and all - you have to put your poem with that photo! xox

Three angry birds as happy as a peapod :-)

I phoned the boys and with great flair read this poem to them . Ryan indulged me. Drew actually laughed after each stanza :-)

  8. Ha! This is perfect! You know one of the best things ever about being an (almost) grown up is that you can have cookies in bed pretty much any old time you want to. Now if that isn't good news I don't know what is. Much love xx Jos

  13. Awwww lots of fun followed by cookies in bed, best way to spend snow days but I was sorry your plans for special birthday celebrations had to be adapted... but then places don't matter just so long as you're celebrating together. Hope your new pooch is keeping warm*!*

  14. Too cute. No cookies in bed. They make crumbs and attract mice. Don't ask how I know this.
