A Love Letter

No more blog awards from me (probably with a few exceptions). I would risk excluding someone who shouldn't be excluded and that would not be good.

If I were awarding this blog award, this would be why:

Thank you for being such an important part of my life. Sometimes I blog an hour a day. Sometimes I don't blog. But either way I know that I receive astute and funny and thoughtful and perceptive  posts and comments and connections from people I care about. I have learned so much about the world and  countries and lifestyles and I have learned that in the deepest and simplest way, we are all on the same path.

To write and be read means a lot to me. Because of my blog I have learned and am learning to be a writer. And not just that. I use my camera. I notice things. I share. My blog is like having my own  newspaper column. I have a structure and a reason and a means for feedback and support. All precious.

Honest to god, the comments I receive give me a dopamine rush. As good as chocolate.

I rhyme here on  my blog:
I'm not a bump on a log
Or stuck in a fog
Or a cranberry bog.
I think now I'll jog
With my dog.

I have found some actual true real wonderful talented friends from the blogs. It's not a fluke. I don't have a baseball team of close friends in life but I have good friends. And a surprising number have come from introductions here.

So please, if you will: take this attractive insightful not-a-blog-award award and post it up somewhere or maybe hold it to your heart from me. I am thankful for you.

love
kj

  1. Hi Kj!

I have a false sense of feeling human, due in large part to the meds...I know that is only temporary, but I will feeo ok while I can. You are such a kind soul, and I am greatful for you as a person :-)

Do you think you could refer me to a book on how to raise an ADHD child without breaking their spark. My sun needs that book desperately ;-)

And as far as I am concerned my son is my sun but others could rightly correct my error :-)

  2. That's so kind, and so cute, kj. Including the poetry.

    Your new Greyhound dog
will Chase you while you jog
    in the cranberry bog
    in the fog,
but don't trip on that log
while your think of your blog.

Hope the rest of your week is between wonderful and splendiferous (if there is such a word).

Blessings and Bear hugs. And chocolate, if you insist.

    1. Joss, thank you. What's the likelihood of 3 comments in a row; you, lo, and Mim? All friends from the start. The universe must agree with how precious our connections are. And by the way, what a joy it is to see you soar . Your art is amazing

Yes, we've made some amazing, life-long friendships here. It sometimes blows my mind.

Sounds like Chase is fitting right in. Tat makes me giddy!

Maybe we'll talk soon. You know I've been suffering with long hours again :(

  7. Me too, Brian. I've had only one bad (painful) experience: I learned to move alittle slower because of it but a person's character becomes known through our exchanges

  8. I like the image very much. In fact, I think I should update my status on facebook with it. And here is your quote for the day:
"If you think the grass on the other side of the fence is greener, it's because it's fertilized with bull shit."

But I don't cuss. Ever. Well, hardly ever. Um, only if it is really needed. teehee ♥♥♥ Deb

  12. Thank you Kj, it goes into my heart. I am just catching up a bit, due to sadness and a painful shoulder my blogging is limited right now. I love Chase already, Bella also runs and sleeps, not much in between, I do let her off leash when we hike in the forest, so she can run, but sometimes she disappears for 20 minutes at a time and it is scary, but she always comes back. Kisses to you and Chase.

    1. Annie, my heart cries for your great loss. Your sorrow and your love will become part of you. I think. And part of your art . And I think your mother will inspire and watch over you

We had an awfully hard night with chase. Two bad seizures while in the company of two little boys. Not easy to see :-(.

Ah Bella takes off for 20 minutes? That would make me nervous too

      Take care Annie xoxo

To me the best part of blogging is doing it how and when you want. Sometimes we are pulled everywhere else.

But here are your friends and visitors, happily waiting :-)

  16. Can you love someone you have never even seen in real life? Well a few years ago I would have scoffed at such a silly notion ... and then I started blogging. I found a way to express the real me and in doing so found some amazing people who accept the real me too ... fair exchange is no robbery ... I found that accepting myself made it all the easier to accept others and to believe again in the power of loving friendships. I will take this award KJ and tuck it away in my heart as well as somewhere on my blog. My dear dear friend. Much love to you as always xx Jos

  17. Oh, what a beautiful post! I know so much what you mean about awards, it is so nice to have someone give you one, but then you have to choose where else for it to go, and well, then what? You have too many talented folks to bestow it upon!
Just wondering, did you read the story about the lady who was rescuing the starfish that had washed up on the beach and was throwing them back into the sea? When told that she could not possibly make a difference because there were so many, she picked one up, threw in far out into the water and said, "I made a difference to THAT one!"
I wrote about this on my blog in the very early days and it is a story dear to my heart!
And I love making rhymes with you! Let's do some more!! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yes Kay, I remember that story from you. That's it, isn't it? Do what you can do....

Oh so you want to rhyme
    Sometime?
    Well, that's very fine!!!!
