Oh My

I should be in bed already. The last few days have been a whirlwind of problems: interior rain (never good); unexpected costs (money should not be this important);a sore back (too much lugging); two bumps on the head (moving too fast);gorgeous new maple floors but a metal door that wiil no longer close. A decision to adopt a sweet greyhound named chase, just one month off the tracks, who is showing signs of seizures and maybe worse (we will wait with hope). All this too much too fast too confusing too hard. But. My friend Anne's surgery went swimmingly well and it is summer and my Mother is laughing again and I love my family and there are flowers in my yard and my book is being written and I still love mr. Sushi and I still love Provincetown and the sea and my blog and a good haircut. Nothing new drainpipes and a little slowdown won't cure. And how about you? Love kj

  1. Oh, dear! You must take better care of yourself. For emily's sake if not for your own.

Bad back and head problems are the first concern. Have you checked with the doctor about those. Concussion is not fun (said a survivor Bear).

So sad to hear about chase. Maybe you now know why he is off the tracks. Poor doggie.

I am considering the prospect of being unemployed again, which means I can get back into full-time retirement mode. But if I am asked to serve our congregation again, that would be good, too! I figure I win, no matter what happens.

If you're getting rain on the inside, the smart thing is to turn the effected area into a swimming pool. Had you thought of that? Had emily suggested that?

Blessings and Bear hugs in the meantime.

  2. yes money shouldn't be that important. It'd be better if you had my head bumps no bother and my sawzall metal doors no problem either. Me? Same old same old I wake I live and I sleep to wake again. Usually too early or late depending on how effective the dog sticking her nose in my eye is. And tell Lolo I have been to NH and VT many many times. Green Mountains and White. VT is about as far inland as you can get in the NE and still smell the North Atlantic.

    1. Mark, you are lucky to have such a schedule of leisure. I love days like that. I love Shen I can write all day.

LOve love love Vermont. For an inland state it somehow has its own great appeal

  3. So you got the male Grey? I hope his medical problems are nothing serious. They are such gentle, loving dogs.

  4. Oh yes Yes YES!!! See, if was act as if we can handle it, then we most times find ourselves doing just that! I love this post. Except Anne is OUR friend. teehee. A good haircut. Oh yes again please. Best therapy in the world. Now I am off for my first day at my new best job in the world. Except for the freeway drive. But I shall sing all the way. Loudly. And out of key. 5. Cs, no, he is still in his foster home. Needs a neuro work up before adoption can be considered. He is in a wonderful home now so we don't feel the urgency to take on medical issues and costs just yet. But we are still somehow bonded with him. Could be Stella's nudging... Xoxo

  6. Kj, It is hard adopting a new furbaby and finding out they have issues. I hope chase will be okay and come live with you, I see by comments that he is not living with you yet. As for money, it always works out. Slow down and take it easy.xoxo

    1. Hi Annie, jb and I hope this too.chase may be very sick: we wait and hope not

Yea about money. That kind of worry for me masks something else, because sufficient money is usually about decisions toward that end

  7. You DO have a lot going on....I find that when I am overwhelmed with too many things - in too many directions - things like bumps on the head and strained backs occur... I now know you well enough NOT to sat *Slow Down*..(but then, I just said it)! A-ha-ha! All of that will work itself out..

Isn't it wonderful regarding Anne! I spoke to her on Sunday - and she was able to crack jokes! What an amazing woman...

I am thrilled your Mum is slowly rallying - can laugh and enjoy being in your company....this makes me feel so happy!

and....Chase....(what a great name)....I hope his medical problems can be controlled.....Greyhounds are so beautiful...you and JB will be the best parents...saying prayers for you, for your Mum, for Anne, for JB and for Chase....(yes, I think Stella has a hand -oops - paw - in all of this).

Last....so glad you do not have an *indoor pool*!!! ;)

    Love,
