Anniversary

this four
is not the two plus two
that was but isn’t
this four
is miles gone
that could but didn’t.
this four
will be forty
and I will still
be one

It's quite a time. Changes and events are whirling and I am somehow feeling steady. So much is about love. I'm influenced to write more and that is such a good thing for me. Sometimes I want to sign up for the Colrain Poetry Manuscript again and see if my poems are still weak.  What an experience: I wanted to run like hell, and yet I learned so much.

It's almost the weekend. :^)

    1. Mark, I'm not working hard at all! I'm just doing what I want :-)

I wish I had the energy (motivation) to submit to my heart's content. Instead, I just write

At colrain I was required to submit a poetry manuscript; 33 poems. It was all reviewed by 2 editors: for all ten of us. Ouch! I almost left. Those were the days when I didn't know how to edit myself :-)

  2. If you're scared, you should do it. Like a roller coaster, kj. Get on and scream! lol! I love your poetry. I'm writing like crazy too, and just signed up for a writing challenge that starts after the weekend. Gulp. Have a happy, lazy crazy weekend! xoxo

    1. Pam, I would if I had the time. Instead I am writing one story into another for a novel that will take me perhaps another six months, maybe double that

      But I LOVE it

      What writing challenge? !!

Thank you Pam. I listen to you, prudie1

  5. I wish I better knew how to express my feelings about
    this poem.
    I don't know a metaphor from a pinafore
    a simile from an Emily.
I have no idea what's right or wrong or indifferent.
I just know that I LOVE it.
    That's good enough, isn't it?

And hey,,,,sign up. What do you have to lose? I mean, seriously,,,
♥ And have a truly super weekend.

  9. I changed the last line. Just now.

    Before it said:
    I will still.
    Remember

But this poem is about time and how everything and nothing changes. So I am much happier with my now revised numerical ending. ♥

  10. Someday I will feel joy. Perhaps I will learn to write about it. My pen seems to have only one color ink...and yet I know the world is saturated in many hues. Some day....eh KJ? My turn.

Your smile reaches all the way here :)

    1. Dear Annie, thank you always for your visits and words. I want you to know that this poem is not joyous. It is about grief and loss that is folded within me, I think for always now.

Your poetry has many colors. And for those (of us) (most of us) who search, you are a light in the tunnels
