Weekend Mish Mash

I've had an interesting day. For starts, I connected with four friends, including my friend Marsha who, along with her carry-a-tune-not-necessary singing group, rocked and stomped at the opening of the Senior Day Care program where she works. I went to be sure that there was sufficient clapping. If my video skills have improved at all, you can hear Marsha for a few notes of Over the Rainbow. Made me smile just watching her have fun. Made me feel good to tell her it was fun.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! THIS IS HILARIOUS. Read the small print. HAHAHAHA!

The guitarist's name is Sally Ally Muffin Stuffin. For REAL! Officially!

And here you have it. Marsha is the furthest on the right.

I am recovering nicely from my bout with pneumonia. I have been writing substantially. Last night I ordered four books from Amazon, all of which I expect to use as "research" for the love and relationship aspects of my novel. I heard three of the books recommended on NPR's 'three books' series: Geography of the Heart, We Love Each other But...., and Mating in Captivity. The last one looks at why the closer and safer a couple feels toward one another, the less erotic they are in their relationship. Anyone who wants to comment on that hypothesis is welcomed to. :^)

Here's wishing you a happy weekend. If this video of Marsha singing actually comes out, I am going to dance around my couch.

Love kj

  1. Commence to dancin'. I can agree with that statement, in a comfortable relationship you don't have to bounce of the walls or suffer carpet burn. All the proving testing and looking for just the right touch is complete.

  4. I the group sounds ok - and pretty much in tune! (The tambourine accompanimant is *questionable* though! A-ha-ha!) Sally is to be commended to makig these events happen....they are really needed as our world ages.... MUSIC is so healing - and inspiring!

You sound better KJ.....hope you will still take things a little slower.... Emilwee has departed SF (that electrical storm was just TOO MUCH for her sensitive ears)......she should be home soon.... (armed with a plethora of *Avocado* jellies)!

  5. Glad you're feeling a little better, but remember to rest. It is so important with pneumonia, resting is the cure, in my opinion.

I love the group. We have mostly country and western and bluegrass groups at our senior centre...we all enjoy the music and the healing that comes with it, including the staff and volunteers.

Make sure to rest up for Emily's return home...she'll be sure to take any peace you may have built up for yourself, haha! xx

    1. marion, is pneumonia contagious by telephone? ha! and yes about the healing--music has such power. i keep telling myself to learn to strum on my dusty guitar. i want to impress mr. ryan and spunky drew and sleepy logan.

      love you,

  9. Kj - why are all those people walking by while they are singing? SO RUDE! Lol! I think they did pretty well, honestly. I especially love the tambourine enthusiasm. ;)) As for length of relationships and all of that, well, I will fall back on my prude credentials and refrain from commenting. REST! xox

PS Did you dance around your couch? :)

  10. Prudie1, some people actually stood BEHIND the performers! I was happy to just clap myself silly. My friend Marsha is a gem; she was tickled to sing even with part of the audience behind her!

I danced around my couch just after I finished a bowl of cookie dough ice cream. I obviously must know how to care for myself when sick :-)

As for your refrain, you are a wise woman. I shouldn't 'have admitted about the carpet burn :-) hahaha

    Love from prudie2

So true what you've said about being sick and having time and in my case writing. I'm in a zone, Marianne: oh how I wish I had a month to just write. And to play with my grand kids at the sea....
