New York & Friends: a tiny part 1

I have just spent 24 hours in New York City.

JB and I drove in to meet up with two great friends: dear dearest Marianne, who arrived by air from Holland and dear dearest Ms. Lo, battle fatigued from the Providence train station. Without a flinch I say for the hundredth time that New York is an incredible, oversized, one of a kind gorgeous, vibrant melting pot of a city.

We started late afternoon at a rooftop bar overlooking the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building and the Manhattan skyline, all blanketed in a deep dark blue sunset sky. We ate dinner in Soho, met up for the coziest breakfast on 40th Street, strolled into tree filled Bryant Park where we made a shocking discovery about Emily Rabbit (more on that later); darted through the fashion district to JB's orgasmic delight; and sadly sadly said goodbye to Marianne, who flew back to Europe, this time all of us knowing we will meet again, maybe even more of us, no longer wondering if but now wondering only when.

I have no good excuse for the fact that I ended up using four different cameras (don't ask), not to mention I am new to using IPhoto and my Mac laptop, so please bear with me while I figure out how to properly post the photo story of Four Adoring Chicks in Manhattan.

Meanwhile, here is a nibble of the city that never sleeps.

Thank you Lo, thank you Marianne, thank you JB, thank you le pain quotidien, thank you Bryant Park, thank you Boob (heehee), thank you Mood.

That I am able to most easily spend a night and a morning in the heart of New York City with delightful delicious company is something I will never take for granted.

More pix coming.
Love kj

  6. Glad you had a good time away from the grind. I just know that if I lived above 110th street, it'd be all underbelly, rats and roaches for me. And I would love every minute of it.

    1. Mark , I only half believe you about the underbellies, but you make me laugh and grin everytime you chime in to my indulgences :-)

God only knows where you would have me meet you for lunch....

    1. Robin, it was strange to see flowering trees in march! Ah but flowering friends: that is something else all together :-)

I know what you mean about Emily. I don't know shy I keep being shocked by her erratic behavior

The next batch of photos will hopefully highlight our adventure(s). I was in fantastic company the whole time!!!!

    1. We have been thinking and talking about you Lori :) We went for breakfast in Le Pain Quotidien and were served by the same waitress who served you and KJ and she still remembered, so you girls left quite an impression.

    1. Marianne, yes, yes, how lucky. We have only twice actually breathed the same air? Can it be? Because you are a friend for life and for that I count my stars!

      And that dinner at booB.......

    2. It doesn't feel like twice, that's what I am amazed about as well and it felt like it was only yesterday we saw each other in P town.
I love a friendship to be like this :)

  12. I loved taking a breather (sort of) and visiting NYC with you and yours. It is always SO exciting to be there. We can go out in the middle of the night and find so much life still going on (like Paris).

I loved this and think you're doing ok with the multi-camera program thingy.

    Love,
