Tis a Gift to be Simple...

.
It's going to be a busy time on the blogs for me. With all the wild action of the holiday season, I am wanting to post here almost every day lately. I don't ususally do that and I can easily say that I won't have much time to blog.
.
But I just might anyway. I have things to show and tell.
.
Tis the Season officially. Today was a good start. Quiet in a time-to-think-and-meander kind of way. Time to cook and time to love the thrill of ordering some nifty fun presents on line.
.
Time to know who I love and savor why.
.
The first Christmas present got put together & wrapped todnight. JB is a master wrapper. Her presents look better than House Beautiful.
.
And I ordered a few sweet presents on line.
.
.
There are three parts to this post. The first part you just read. .

.
The third part is pictures of me standing in front of the refrigerator. (I swear).
.
The middle part is a brief panorama of the train ride that begin in Clarksville, Arizona, through the desert as you will see. I think the most interesting things to notice are the TEXTURES:
.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
After winnning $$$ in Las Vegas, this train ride was the highlight of my vacation.
.
So now on to part 3: which just so you know is not easy. Here I am:
.
.
.
I like to be kind. I think it shows. I like to be smart too. At my advancing age, I am an aspiring babe. I am losing weight.
.
I try to listen. I generally care. I have some skills. I understand broken hearts. I don't want to be shy talking about sex. I'm good on vacation.
.
I like to write. I love my camera. I have a cozy house. I can be petty. I can't believe how important so many people here on my blog have become to me. I am emotionally brave. I am a wiseguy. I know how to be a friend. I know how to love.
.
The holidays have begun. My last two have been too sad. This year, I'd like to let them come and let myself enjoy the parts I know I like. And some new parts too.
.
Care to join me?
.
I hope your day was good today. I tomorrow you hear bells.
.
Love
kj

  4. You are wonderful. Brave like fireworks. Timely like rain when you're thirsty. Welcoming and generous like a crackling fireplace when it snows outside.

I'm with you, KJ. Holding hands and skipping into the future, all smiles and packets of sugar in our pockets.

    No more tears.

  5. Beautiful beautiful! And the last two ones: very nice and funny lady!

We don't have Thanksgiving, but Sinterklaas is already here. On 5 December he is celebrating his birthday and then returns to Spain. And right he is, because we had the first snow this morning. Brrrrrr...

  6. Uhhh It's a refrigerator darlin' you're standing in the wrong direction. Leftovers!

I miss the desert, I think it may be time to go visit again.

  7. Yes, yes, yes! You are the reason I'm tucking away $200 a month so I can come and play in 2012. I so want to spend time on your couch and in front of your refrigerator. Love your photos and hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving lunch/dinner whatever. KJ you're an inspiration. Really. Love you lots. There. Said it. Happy?

  8. Walking Man cracks me up. Ah KJ, you are a Babe, there's really no need to aspire to things already achieved is there?

Love the photos. Very interesting part of the world. I love the fact that it is almost all nature in these shots. Sometimes it's hard to find a totally natural environment to enjoy.

I start wrapping this weekend. Can't wait. This is the part I love best ... waiting to hear the bells.

Lots of love to you KJ. xx Jos ♥

  9. do enjoy the season to the fullest. love those photos of the southwest, most beautiful landscape. Your haircut is adorable. You have a good sense of who you are and how you want to go forth in life. I admire that.

The Dr told me that after I have my procedure there will be recovery time and I cant leave until they are sure "you know who you are." I had to laugh as I dont know who I am now before the procedure. If having it tells me who I am I'll be thrilled. LOL

  11. Oh what a post! It made me SMILE this cold, frosty morning! (Yes, still in the 30's....fourth consecutive day in SF..we are not used to this!) The photos from the train show those wonderful "pink" rocks one only finds in the Southwest......gorgeous!

JB's delicious "Candy Surprise Tin" looks even more delicious than you described..... it will be "oohed and ahhed" over - (and then it will be devoured)! Ha-ha!

You. dear KJB......are (as had been said) a BABE - for sure! Your weight loss shows - you are looking GREAT!

We are both climbing (albeit it slowly at times) up and out of that abyss of heartbreak and despair.... and you know what - we are going to make it out!!!!

You DO know how to love, how to be a friend, how to inspire...... never forget that.

Love to you, JB (the wrapper extraordinaire) and of course, Stella!

    MUWAH!

    ♥ Robin ♥

p.s. Suki - your comment (about not leaving the Drs. until you "knew who you were" cracked me up!!!

Second, if you need someone to help split the calories of those nonpareils you just let ol Roo know, y'hear?

Thirdly, you are beautiful inside and out and are very brilliantly wise and wonderful. Not wise as in wizened oh no no no; WISE as in Woman, Intelligent, Sexy and Empowered.
