The Precursor and Predictable Story of Two Little Boys and One Little Rabbit

.
.
Ryan, what was your favorite part of the weekend?
.
.
The lollipops and jellybeans.
.
.
Ryan, some people might tell you there is no such thing as growing lollipops and jellybeans in the garden.
.
.
But there is, Gram. I watered them. And I ate them.
.
.
.
.
.
Ryan, do you know Emily Rabbit?
.
.
Who is that?
.
.
She is a rabbit and as sure as I know anything
.
she is going to charge me rent money
.
for enjoying her garden.
.
.
What is rent money?
.
.
Nevermind .
.
.

.

Drew, what was your favorite part of the weekend?

BAbaBAbaBAbaBA. Translation: Playing in the yard and eating cherrios.

.
And as the weekend drew to a close.....

.

.
.
...a note suddenly appeared in between the rows of lollipops:
.
.
.
.
Oh dear....

  2. hehe, haha, yes, a perfect bedtime story with a most clever and lovely title.

I think this would make another good book kj, and wouldn't Mr.Ryan and Mr.Drewbaby love to read all about their adventures at Gram and Emilys house?

I got a little wistful again, I really loved those days when mine were small.

Lolo's right, it doesn't get any better than this.

  4. KJ, you wore those kids out!!

Emily, but just think my dear, these are children. You arent going to charge for children to have fun are you. Share and share alike. they may bring you some lollipops and jelly beans some day.

  5. Better ante up or you might get evicted form the garden.

  6. :o) - I enjoyed this post. Give the kids a break, Emily. More jellybeans will grow during the summer months.

Chalk drawings! - Last weekend I purchased a big box of chalk for my nieces... well... for me, too, to enjoy drawing with them.

  7. heh, heh, heh,HA! Superb story, dear kj, and lovely photos of two darling little boys. Just imagine how they will love your stories and photos when they grow up!!

Please tell Emily sometimes she's just gotta share! And besides, as far as I know, lollipops and jellybeans always grow back...she'll just have to be patient once again, and Emily knows how to be patient, yes?

My family is arriving in a week and a half...I am counting the days. I am so excited!

  8. Oh boy.....e.r. is not a happy rabbit!
I think someone better be coughing up a few bucks, or sitting some little rabbit down and having a chat about children and gardens, and what happens when they meet!
    Emily, I'll see you tomorrow.
    No frozen brussel sprout throwing...okay????

    XXOO!!

  9. I was WAITING FOR THIS NOTE! We all know what a business-wabbit Emily is....and all that "pilfering" from her Lollipop and J-Bean garden! She wants to recoup her "losses"!

I love the perfect innocence and joy that children live in... it is restorative to those of us who are having darker days....KJ, these posts have captured the adorable boys so nicely!

Emily.... I heard that Lollipops are "perennials" and a new crop will be sprouting up soon! Don't know about j- beans..... we will have to wait and see! Ha-ha!

    Love,

    ♥ Wrobin ♥

What a great tale of two boys and two lovely women and one bad bad rabbit. LOL!!
I adore the pic of Ryan surrounded by his drawing. It looks like an aura.

  12. Lovely! I am cautiously back, today is my first day at the computer, the first day as well without double vision and I am making little visits and hope to find nothing by good news everywhere. And lovely posts like this. Thank you for the invitation, how I wish I could come.
But my heart will be there, I promise you that. Hugs from here.

  14. Okay, on my life list (for the next time around) I have to include being a grandchild of kj. Talk about a Wonderland! :) What a lovely crop of memories you are growing. And Emily, I'm sure there is room there for a new crop of jelly beans - NO, not in the petunia patch!!! xox Pam

  15. lo, it is my pleasure to know you are well tucked into bed for a good night's sleep. the first two comments here were yours and lori's and that tucked ME into bed in the same way! xoxo

lori, i have a friend who has a 'surprise' four year old named madison and my weary friend says she gets more kisses each day than any person even deserves. :)

lori, i can hear emily dancing in the kitchen at your 'pay up' comment. :)

suki, you don't think emily is going to charge me? HAHAHAHAHAHA!

CS, evicted from my own garden? i should have rented out the space to that wascly wrabbit.

chewy, the chaulk was amazingly fun and quite substantial. now i am thinking of drawing something huge on my driveway!

marion, i am SO happy for you! the lollipop garden was a huge success (oh god, if emily sees this she will probably add another $ 5). think about trying it. ryan went out each day and 'picked' his lollipop (my daughter jess is probably wincing knowing i promoted lollipops). let's be in touch before your family comes, okay? ♥ (i love you)

anne, no discussion works. she wants her money. more to come, of course. xoxo

hi annie, how are you today? i am so glad to give you a laugh. i think my blog is one of extremes: sometimes light, sometimes as heavy as cement! ♥

marie, that is actually baby drew in that aura photo (i had the same impression) do you think you might be planting a jelly and lolli garden? i could supply you with seeds. really, i could! ps. nice to hear from you. i miss you when you're not around xoxo

oh dear allegra. my heart skipped when i saw your name here. i am glad arrived to partake in the joys of lollipops. you are a treasure, allegra. i got your email from barry. feel better, please, my friend. i can't imagine my world without you, your wisdom, your way with words. xxoxo

annie, i think emily has plans i'm afraid to even consider. please sympathize with me. xoxo

aw, pam, you're back! YAY! double YAY! let's hear about that vacation, girl. i expect it was super. xoxoxo
