Known & Not Known

.
It's late and I have an early morning ahead.
.
But I can't resist a quick post,
.
even though I am behind in my blog visits.
.
Today I started thinking about what I know
.
and what I don't know:
.
.
I know how to publish a book
.
I know how to listen.
.
I know how to make love.
.
I know how to work a budget.
.
I know how to clean a hot tub.
.
I know how to forgive.
.
I know how to decorate a room.
.
.

.

I don't know how to change a tire.
.
I don't know how to do CPR

(well, I might, but not with confidence)
.
I don't know how to forget.
.
I don't know the names of birds and trees.

I don't know how to read music.

I don't know what's right for you.

.

I do know a miracle

when I see one:

.

.

or two

.

.

And thanks to lori times five's most recent post,

.

I know a little about lizards.

.

Did you happen to see this

.

fierce yard lizard

.

in the desert, Lori?

.

.

love

kj

  1. Oh! Look at that cutie patootie kid! What a doll. I hope you got a little wet. :)

I don't know how to change a tire either, but I do know how to call AAA, so life still works.

  2. I used to know how to change a tire, so I assume I still could. But I don't know how to change the oil. My list shakes out to two things: Things I know how to do and things I know how to get done by someone else. :)

  3. Isnt forgiving a sort of forgetting or releasing of clinging to a memory.?

I myself know nothing across the board. So you are way ahead of me.

  5. Okay, Dad raised me like one of the guys:

I can change a tire, change the oil, do most of the maintainence on the lawn tractor.
I have put together from scratch (out of desperation!) a plow attachment for said tractor.
I've poured concrete, roofed a house, slung plaster, refinished floors, taken out an old sewer---that was fun....NOT.
And now I have told DH that he is HIRING that crap out.
Becuase I am focusing on ART from here on.....
Well, at least until something else falls apart and needs a quick fix....LOL!!!

    XXOO!!
    Anne

    Vert word: *terliz*
"I have had to work on the *terliz* in our house many times!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  6. Lovely post. I can change a tire, but hate it, so usually act as if I can't and get some nice man to fix it for me, but I always help
:-). And Anne I can also fix a terliz :-).
Between us all we can do anything.

  7. i learned how to do a lot of those things too, tires, cpr, i think i'm a good listener...but if i had to write all the things i don't know, i might have to stay here all day!

i love the flowers, look how lovely they are already, your garden is indeed a miracle, and your photos are pretty special too.

that looks like a palaholeasauraus you have there kj, one of the most friendly garden lizards there are, you are so lucky! be nice to him ;)

  8. Wow, I can do a lot of things. I do have a hard time forgetting myself. I am like Anne, raised like a boy!
    It is "Terlitz" Anne! LOL.
I can do cpr, but not confident in it.
    LOL!!
Madi is in love with Mr Ryan!
Word verify "fundf" as in "I would have "fundf" if I realized how much I can do."

  13. I have changed many a tire, but now I have this cute little AAA card in my wallet that does it for me! :)
I haven't had enough coffee to think of one single thing I can do. How about: I can make coffee. :) xo!

  14. PS My word vert was "lowsqua". As in, you must "lowsqua" to change a tire.

  15. Love your photos! And the best thing you know how to do? That would be being able to see a miracle or four or twenty...every day! ;) xoxo

  16. linda, i call AAA too! i am stubborn about changing tires. i just don't want to learn :)

cs, yes, two lists, and i have a third: things i don't give a damn about :)

suki, i love this comment. yes, i've been taught that to forgive you must simply forget. somehow i do it backwards. your comment about yourself: ha! you are a very talented woman, ms. suki. i am a good judge of people, so trust me here! xoxo

dear soul sister anne, would you mind if your room is next to mine at the retirement home? i could use a fix-it-all kind of neighbor. in return i will cook for you, i will laugh at all of your jokes, i will swoon over your art, and i will even be a most loyal friend...
    :)

annie!!! 'some nice man'!!!! haha! what about some nice woman changing your tire for you? if you lived here in northampton, that would be just as likely (but not me, of course!) and yes, our collective talents are amazing...

lori, that is a good idea: to write as many things we don't know because that is also a list of what we might WANT to know. about that lizard, lori, i thought it wasw a p%%$$#@@**&& heart lizard, but ah, i can see you are right. you surely know your lizards. except i think her name is penelope...♥

marie, i want to know what you can do! that's it! i'm doing another post on this and i'm offering a award. stay tuned, please, marie, because i want to know more! :)

sonia, best grandmother ever, see above comment to marie. please keep thinking.... :)

  17. pattee, you are so sweet. i love you too. we have been through love and loss together, and our hearts are forever bound by that wonder. xoxo

karin, am i right that your weekend will be one of feeling better? i so hope so. do you think you can travel by october? just wondering.... (don't you love mysteries?) :)

ms. soulbrush, i like the way your mind works too. and your hands and your paint brushes. i will love to see your list. make it long, okay?

prudie1, ms. modesty, friend to kj: you can't think of one thing? hell, pam, i could do a list for you already with 20 things on it! but i understand about the coffee. i just had mine and don't i sound so much more intelligent than i normally do? :)

pam, we must lowsqua to do many things, and some of them are best done in the dark....

hello marion, your comment always brightens my day. you know that, right? last night i saw a heart in a tree. i'm on the lookout for miracles, as are you. changes everything, doesn't it, my friend?
    xoxo

  19. Wow, you know far too much for an ordinary human. Not only do I know much less than you, I can't even remember some of the things I know. And I want to know how you recognise a miracle, 'cos I may have spotted one.
