Provincetown--Part 1

We begin our three and a half hour ride with Stella in the backseat and plenty of cheese, apples and scones to nibble on. True to form, jb and I cut off the main road as soon as we cross the bridge to Cape Cod. We travel along Route 6A,
marveling at the abundance
of trees and landscapes.
Cape Cod homes are precious. Even in their simplicity.

We nonchallantly passed this, turned around,

and drove back so I could take this picture.
A worldwide tourist attraction, the Cape has its full share of honky tonk.

And incredible flowers. And the ocean with its light and soft breezes.

Within hours I am proudly wearing my beach teeshirt and flipflops. Walking. Reading. Catching up. Slowing down. I lived here for two years and I haven't been back for the last two years. I'm surprised how little has changed.

  1. The flowers are precious! I cannot believe how abundant and prolific. You know each little blossom has hundreds of minute insects in them, you can't see them with your eyes.

I love the photograph of the pier. You must be in heaven KJ, what with the ocean breeze, a cozy home, and trees to boot. Have a fun weekend dearie.

No belly flapping, I mean belly flopping on the ocean :-) Hehe.

  7. Beautiful spot! How nice is that little flowerstreetthing..(stall?) You can pick the flowers and do some money in a little box, I suppose. In Denmark you can do all your shopping that way. No, I am exaggerating a bit but it is nice that people are so honest that this system works. In my country I buy honey, tomatoes and eggs in the summer with those little street.. grmf don't know the name. Help!

  14. ces, i think the ocean air and salt helps too.

    ces, you are peeping!

anon, we ate a scone and a half. maybe two, actually. then we had a lobster roll. later we went out and i had a salad and vegetable egg rolls. 'honky tonk' is another name for basic-carnival-tacky.

wieneke, i would call them flower stands or vegetable stands. i love knowing you have them too!

debra kay, global warming aside, the ocean is a wonderful constant for humankind...

thongs?! who said? did you see me on that camcorder, ces?

btw, i love to flip and then flop.

melissa, i LOVE the cape. it is so special.

ces, i knew there would come a day when plastic flowers made us think real flowers were plastic! something is very wrong with that, right?!

    anon, POMPOMS! perfect!
